We're Building the Decky API – And We're Incredibly Excited About It

From the founders: We're launching an API that lets any product embed presentation-generation capabilities. Here's why this changes everything for sales teams and product builders.

We've been working on something that has us more excited than anything we've built at Decky so far. Today, we want to share what's coming: the Decky API.

Why an API?

We've been hearing two things consistently from users. First, product teams want to embed presentation generation directly into their own platforms - letting their customers create slides without leaving their app. Second, teams want programmatic access to automate the deck creation work that's eating up their time.

Both requests point to the same need: a way to generate on-brand presentations without manual effort, at scale. So we're building it.

What the API Enables

  • Any unstructured data in, Google Slides out. Feed the API text, JSON, CSVs, transcripts - whatever you have. Get back a professionally designed presentation.
  • Your branding or your customers' branding. Configure brand kits programmatically. Colors, fonts, logos, slide layouts - all enforced automatically.
  • Tailored to any topic, any audience. Supply the right context, and the presentation adapts. A board deck for investors looks different than a training deck for new hires.

Use Case: Embedded Presentations in Products

Imagine you're building a reporting tool. Your customers upload data, run analyses, and export findings. What if they could also click a button and get a presentation-ready summary of their data - automatically formatted in their company's brand?

That's what the API enables. Companies can take any unstructured data from their platform and produce Google Slides presentations. The output isn't generic - it's tailored to the specific topic and audience, using the branding of the end customer.

No more manual slide creation. No more exporting to PowerPoint and reformatting. Just clean, on-brand presentations generated in seconds.

Use Case: Custom Sales Materials for Every Stage

This one is personal for us. We've both spent years in sales and sales leadership, and we've seen the same problem play out at every company: sales leaders want reps to use specific materials at specific stages of the deal cycle. And reps... don't.

It's not because reps are lazy. It's because the materials are generic. They don't reflect the customer's situation, the conversations that have happened, or the specific people in the room.

With the Decky API, that changes. Sales teams can push deal information - CRM data, call transcripts, meeting attendees - to the API. In return, they get the exact presentation they need, customized to:

  • The customer's company and industry
  • The specific pain points discussed in calls
  • The job titles and priorities of the attendees
  • The current stage of the deal

One click. That's it. The rep gets a presentation that's actually relevant, not a generic deck they'll never use. For decades, sales leaders have dreamed of this level of customization. The tooling just wasn't there. Now it is.

What We're Most Excited About

Honestly? We're excited to see what people build with this.

We have our ideas about the obvious use cases - sales enablement, embedded reporting, client deliverables. But the most interesting applications always come from customers who see possibilities we didn't imagine.

If you're a product builder thinking about how presentation generation could fit into your platform, or a sales leader tired of generic collateral, we'd love to talk.

Get Early Access

The Decky API is currently in development, and we're working with a small group of early partners. If you're interested in being part of that group, reach out. We're particularly interested in:

  • SaaS companies that want to add presentation exports to their products
  • Sales operations teams looking to automate collateral creation
  • Agencies building tools for their clients

This is the beginning of something big for Decky, and we're grateful you're along for the ride.
